Join Houston Community College for its Youth and Teen Symposium in partnership with the City of Houston and Houston Independent School District (HISD). This year's theme is "Empowered: Connecting College, Career and Community." The event is designed for youth, teens, and their parents to explore real-world career paths and resources that help them prepare for higher education and the workforce.

Event Benefits

  • Hands-On Career Exploration: Students will participate in interactive sessions across HCC’s unique Centers of Excellence, exploring fields from health sciences to technology, arts, and skilled trades.
  • Guidance to Prepare for Higher Education: Parents and guardians will connect with resources to help their families make a plan for higher education.  
  • Early Exposure to College and Career Options: This firsthand experience in HCC’s state-of-the-art facilities provides youth and teens with a positive, early experience at a college. 

Tentative Schedule

HCC's Youth and Teen Symposium is tailored for youth and teens to engage in hands-on activities in fields that interest them. From cutting-edge maker spaces and virtual reality (VR) labs to professional art studios and health science simulations, students will explore a range of career options.
